As the spokes in the hub of a wheel, everything rests on Prana (Life-force), the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sama Veda, and diverse groups of people.

– Prasna Upanishad 2.6

Prana, the breath of life, or life force here is designated as Brahman the ultimate reality. The message is that we are simply a spoke in the wheel of God or Brahman. Isolating our identity and importance only to one spoke is not a true reflection of reality and in the Vedic texts is one of the key causes of suffering. We must see the real picture and not allow greed and ego to overtake our better judgement and work towards seeing things as they really are. We are all part of the Wheel.

As all rivers finally unite with the ocean, may I recognise the true reality of all things and avoid the dark clouds of egotism and anger which block my vision.
