This Dharma is like honey for all beings and all beings are like honey for Dharma.  The shining immortal one is within Dharma, in reference to the self (atman), the effulgent immortal one who exists as Dharma is the atman, this is immortal, this is Brahman, and this is everything.

– Brihad Aranyaka Upanishad 2.5.11.11

Dharma is honey for all living beings; it is as Lord Krishna says ‘that which is best for all living beings’. I read this verse as equating Dharma with Moksha or enlightenment. They are two sides of the same coin, it is often said that happiness lies in helping others and here we see that it is the highest goal.  Our truest self rather than being sinful is pure and righteousness is a part of its very being.  This verse is an impetus for us realise the divinity in ourselves and others and practise Dharmic action.

May I embody Dharma and be honey to everybody I meet.
