The Sun has finally come to London. It is something we all truly Love! However the weather is not the focus of this blog.
Krishna Das came to London for a three day retreat. If you don’t know him, he was nominated for a Grammy award this year and performed Traditional Hindu chants at the Grammy Awards. He is truly at the forefront of bringing Kirtan around the world and is somebody I consider to be an amazing personality.
Inspired by Neem Karoli Baba who devotees say ‘Shined Like the Sun’ he brings Maharajis present into his Kirtan.
My spiritual teacher Ram Dass explained, ‘That love is like sunshine, a natural force, a completion of what is a bliss that permeates every particle of existence. Everything in that vibration is in love. It’s a different state of being beyond the mind.
We were transported by Maharaj-ji’s love from one vibrational level to another, from the ego to the soul level. When Maharaj-ji brought me to my soul through that love, my mind just stopped working. Within his love i felt so completely safe, i was able for a moment to let go of my fears and unworthiness and enter into my jivatman. It was such a deep sense of being home.
Over 1000 people chanted with KD in Central London last week showing that Hinduism is not some obscure tradition of the past but adding the highest value to people’s lives in the modern day. Speaking about the devotional yoga practise, KD said ‘When we see the beauty of our own being we are seeing the beauty of the Being that is the One of which we are all a part. And when we turn towards that One, love is the natural reaction of the heart. ‘
It is my wish for the vibrations of Love and goodwill created last week to permeate London and the rest of the world and the Sunshine to reach all of you.
