We are constantly aiming to be perfect in life. many times the fear of imperfection persuades us out of action. A better model is to learn by our failures and scares, to improve, to ‘experiment with truth’.
We should never be afraid to change our position for the better. Mahatma Gandhi once in the middle of a huge protest against the British cancelled a particular campaign with very large momentum.
When asked how he could even contemplate changing his position he beautifully replied, ‘my commitment is to truth and not to consistency.’
I feel this position also promoted by Hindu Philosophy. Yudhisthira in the Mahabharata says that the scriptures are not wrong but they will not provide an answer for every situation we encounter for true Dharma is hidden in the cave of our heart.
