– Bhagavad Gita 2.38
Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad gita calls us to relinquish desire, anger and greed which cloud our intelligence and correct nature. He describes it as an insatiable fire which only increases with greater desire. If we can work towards becoming free of selfish desire and attempt to practise Karma Yoga (selfless action) our vision of reality and our true nature will become apparent.
May we have the courage and grace to move from performing actions motivated by selfish desire to those of a more selfless nature. It is selfish desire that leads to wicked action and hence we should strive to overcome this foe in our pursuit of perfection.
