This name of Rama is none other than Narasimha who manifested in a lion like form to destroy the evil King Hiranyakashipu who is like the Kali Yuga. Crushing evil in its worst form, the name is God, those who take refuge in repeating it will find the greatest of sanctuaries.
Prahalada is considered a saintly devotee of the Lord throughout the scriptures.  The Shrimad Bhagavata in particular gives special importance to his story but it is also found in many books including the Guru Granth Sahib.  Although only a young child, Prahlada is an exemplar of bhakti. He is a being who is constantly immersed in the Love of God.  His demonic family tried everything to sway his devotion but they could not destroy the unwavering love and devotion he displayed.
His father, the evil king Hiranyakashipu abusing Prahalada became immensely frustrated, he shouted, “Where is your God now? Is he in this Pillar?” Swinging his club at Prahalada and the pillar close by, Prahalada responded, “The Lord is within all things in all places, I see him everywhere.” Then from the pillar emerged Narasimha, the man-lion form of the God to destroy the evil king and protect his beloved devotee.  This story is a wonderful teaching of a divine outlook, seeing God in all of existence is the method for trumping the evils of the world.
